8 months

It's that time again.  Since there isn't a 30th this month, we will celebrate today since it's the last day of the month.

We just might have a yogi on our hands

Caroline has been caught in many yoga poses and doing pilates moves. Unfortunately I never am able to capture the good ones. This evening she was doing downward dog and somehow she twisted it into sitting herself up - all by herself. It was awesome and I'm sorry I missed recording it. She also does several versions of planks.

Since I can't seem to catch those, here's some other cute pictures of her.

Santa Monica

My sister, aka Aunt Jackie, was in town over the weekend. On Saturday we went up to Santa Monica. While I hate, hate, hate the drive up to LA, I always enjoy myself when we get there.

First up was the Farmers Market on Arizona. Lots of fresh yummy stuff and lots to see. There were several flower booths with gorgeous blooms.

From there we continued on the 3rd Street Promenade.  Lots of gorgeous flowers there too.

We had a nice lunch at a Pub and then headed towards the ocean and the pier.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day!

Visit to the tidepools at Laguna Beach

Yesterday we took a little outing to see some tidepools.  We went to the same beach where we had some pictures taken back in November.  Remember these pictures?  The beach had been completely transformed by all the storms and high surf we've had in the last couple of months.  It was so strange because there was huge boulders where the sand had been when we were here last.  The tidewater docent said that this is common - the beach usually changes during the winter and the good, sandy beach will be back soon.  These new rocks made for some treacherous travel to get to the tidepools, but it was so worth it.  And just to give you perspective...it was the day before Valentine's Day with temperatures in the 70's and sunny.  What a great day.  We had to be very careful because even though it was low tide, there were some pretty big swells that would occasionally come in.  I think this was the first time for me to visit tidepools (at least that I can remember) and definitely Caroline's first time.

Jeremy was making me a little nervous.  Waves were coming up over those rocks occasionally.

We have a crawler!!!!

Caroline has been crawling all over the house today. When she sees something she wants, she goes at it full tilt! Earlier today her target was Rudy (our big furry cat), and when Papa got home it was her ball. 

Thankfully Rudy has been very patient with her and lets her "attack" him.

A few weeks ago I was folding some clothes in Caroline's room so I put her in her crib so she could play and keep out of trouble. As I was folding, I heard some creaking and I looked over and she was up on all fours, rocking back and forth. She was really going at it. Ever since then it seems like every chance she gets she starts this rocking motion.  I got some video of it later on that day.
