We're not in California anymore

Today it snowed.  Lots and lots of blowing white stuff.  It didn't stick, wasn't icy, but man it was cold and windy today.  I didn't realize it was going to be so cold today otherwise I would have done my shopping yesterday.  Instead, yesterday I stayed home all day curled up on the couch and taking some nice long naps.  If I had only known, I would have done all my running around yesterday.

Caroline stayed home and got to watch all the swirling snow from the warm comforts of the living room.

If you look really closely you can see the huge snowflakes.
Tomorrow we will most likely be at home all day as the high temperatures aren't supposed to get out of the 20's.  To top it off, I hear from all my west coast friends that it's in the 80's in southern California today.  Makes me miss it that much more.

KangaZoom!

We met up with a friend yesterday at KangaZoom which is an awesome place to get the little ones moving and worn out, especially when the weather isn't so great.  It's full of inflatable jumpers and slides.  This was Caroline's first experience with bouncy houses and I wasn't sure how she would do, but she loved it.  I managed to snap a few pictures of her.  By the way, this wore me out too, it's not easy chasing a kid through the bounce houses and up slides when you're 32 weeks pregnant!
She was just getting the hang of it.

Lovin' it!

And off she goes!

She made it all the way up, with me behind her.  Then she slid down all by herself!
Once I got up there, I had second thoughts about sliding down, but I figured it would be much easier to just slide than to try to tackle that "ladder" again.

Santa Visit

Here's a sneak peak of Caroline visiting with Santa yesterday.
Caroline did a great job and *almost* enjoyed visiting with Santa.  After seeing a bunch of screaming and crying kids sitting on Santa's lap, I was really proud of her.  :)

Waiting patiently in line

You can't see it very well, but there is a nutcracker on the other side of this little wall.  Caroline thought he was hilarious and laughed hysterically at him.  Of course all the other people were cracking up over her reaction.  She's such a hoot!

32 Weeks!

This is kind of a big week for me. In my first pregnancy I was taken out of work and put on bed rest at 32 1/2 weeks.  So far, things are looking like this isn't going to be an issue for me this time.  I have my fingers crossed anyways.

The three of us took a tour of the hospital on Saturday.  I'll be delivering at Northside Hospital.  Everything looked good and I have several friends who have delivered there and they all have good things to say about it.  The crazy thing about Northside is that it delivers more than 18,000 babies a year, more than any other hospital in the country.  I think the tour guide said there are 72 labor and delivery rooms.  I guess they know what they're doing!

Santa's watching you!

Seems a little early, but Caroline got an encouraging message from Santa.  Click here to see what he said.

Our Little Turkey

We went to Grandma C's house for Thanksgiving dinner.  Caroline loved her turkey, dressing and all the fixings.
She also got to meet her two month old cousin, Bella.  She was very sweet with her and even tickled her toes!
The rest of the weekend we've just been relaxing - no Black Friday shopping for us!

30 Weeks

Wow, only 10 more weeks to go!  Everything is looking good, now if I could just get some energy to get everything all organized for this little one.  We haven't started working on her room yet.  There are so many clothes to sort through to see what we have and what we still need to buy to get her through the first few weeks.  Oh well, I guess it will all come together - it always seems to.

Jeremy got a little creative with the camera angle.....

Grandma's House

We made a quick trip to South Carolina this weekend to see Grandma and Grandpa B.  After the 3 hour car ride, we took a walk down by the ponds.

28 weeks

The last 2 weeks have been pretty tough for me.  I've been having some really strange, but very strong pains in my sides, back and left shoulder.  Strong enough that I had to wake Jeremy up at 2:45 on Wednesday morning to take me to Labor and Delivery.  These pains are still unexplained except for possibly being the result of coughing so much.  After some heavy drugs (Morphine) at the hospital and a nightly dose of Flexeril, I think I am finally getting better.  I've learned that I probably really need to take these next several months pretty easy.  And thank goodness for mom - she made a short notice trip on Wednesday evening so she could be here to help out on Thursday.

Everyone please pray and keep your fingers crossed that these twelve weeks are uneventful!

Happy Halloween from Caro"lion"

Fun with Pumpkins

To celebrate Halloween we painted a pumpkin and carved one.  This was Caroline's first experience with paint.

16 months!

Getting ready to go to the nursery.

A couple of times a month I have a Mothers of Preschoolers meeting (MOPS) at a local church.  Caroline goes to the nursery at the church while I'm at the two hour meeting.  The first couple of times I was very nervous about leaving her there because she really hasn't been "left" anywhere just yet.  She has done great though.  Friday was the third time for her to go, and I guess she recognized the place because she did get a bit nervous when I was getting ready to leave her.  I checked in on her about a half hour later and she was hanging out with one of her friends, eating her friend's snack.  Then when I went to pick her up, she was looking out the window watching the older kids play on the playground.  She was pretty excited to see me there for her.  I'm very proud that she is independent enough to be left alone for awhile.

Caroline's vocabulary continues to grow.  We have some feelings cards that she likes to look at.  She has already mastered the shy feeling by hiding her eyes, and this week she mastered her surprised look and her curious look.  It's so cute.  Her favorite way to assert herself is to sign "more."  She's been doing this in a very impatient manner.

She has surprised us with some new animals sounds.  Quacking, mooing, baaing have all added to her favorite lion roaring.  And I can't forget her fish faces and kisses whenever she sees a fish.

She continues to amaze us and make us laugh daily.  What a fun kid!

27 weeks

Less than 3 months to go!

Pretty much the same old thing, except this last week was a bit painful for me.  I have been battling a sinus infection with a bad cough and I guess I had been coughing so hard and so much that I hurt my ribs.  The doctor thinks it was a hairline fracture of the ribs.  I think it was either that or I just strained some muscles.  Either way, it was very painful and I was very thankful that my mom could come down on short notice Monday night to help me out and watch Caroline while I went to the doctor on Tuesday.  I was sent over to radiology to have an ultrasound done of my kidney, pancreas, gall bladder and liver.  These all checked out fine, thank goodness.  Within a couple of days, the pain had started to lessen and I just keep feeling better and better.

Wings Over Atlanta

Last weekend we went to the airshow at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta.  There were soooo many people there, but we managed.  There were several acts, but the main attractions were the Canadian Snowbirds and the Navy Blue Angels.

Feeling crafty

I found a little craft project that I wanted to do for Caroline.  It's a simple little applique the I put on an old shirt of hers.  It's nothing fancy, but I think I'm going to try my hand at some more complicated designs.

Strike a pose

Smelling the flowers

I've already started looking at some other applique designs that I want to make.  I've already bought a bunch of new fabric to try it out.
